New York Shots #1: Right spots for cheap drinks
Lucky Strike in Tribeca is pretty reasonable. Great place for lunch. A typical French borderline hole in the wall type place. They're bar area is decently small, but so is the dining area. Good cocktails and wine list. Makes you feel downright Parisian.
>> Lucky Strike, 59 Grand, bet Wooster and West Broadway, T. 212 941 0772 Epsteins in the LES is probably the best place to have a cheap drink and some good old American bar food. Straight forward, good location, and always some ridiculous extreme sport on the television.
>> Epstein’s Bar, 82 Stanton Street, T. 212 477 2232 Le Poisson Rouge in the West village is more for nightlife. Drinks aren’t quite as cheap, but definitely not unreasonable for Manhattan. Good shows with a bunch of well known acts coming through. Jackie’s fifth amendment is an institution in Park slope. If you happen to be in lower Brooklyn check it out. Cheap drinks, been there forever, a naturally defined character. Very homey, it doesn't feel like you’re in the city at all.
>> Jackie’s 5th Amendment, 404 Fifth Avenue, Brooklyn , T. 718 788 9123 Matteo A. Tunioli
